Cement consumption in Peru increased 7.3 per cent YoY to 1.252Mt in August 2026, according to the country’s cement association, ASOCEM. Of this total 1.112Mt was supplied by ASOCEM members. 

Cement production advanced 7.6 per cent YoY to 1.118Mt in August 2026 from 1.038Mt in August 2025, while clinker production surged 50.3 per cent YoY to 0.947Mt from 0.630Mt. 

Cement exports fell 35.9 per cent YoY to 7000t from 11,000t in August 2025. However, clinker exports edged up 1.1 per cent YoY to 72,800t in August 2026 from 72,000t.

Cement imports increased 15.6 per cent YoY to 12,000t in August 2026 from 11,000t in August 2025. Chile was the main importer, with a share of 60.2 per cent of the total, followed by Vietnam (33.3 per cent) and the Special Development Zone of Matarani (6.5 per cent). The average CIF import price increased 10.2 per cent YoY to US$145.18/t in Tacna, while in the port of Matarani the average CIF import price increased 61.6 per cent YoY to US$123.76/t when compared with October 2025. 

Clinker imports surged from 36,000t in August 2025 to 119,000t in August 2026. Approximately 67 per cent came from South Korea while the remainder was imported by Ecuador. The average CIF import price in the port of Callao was US$56.35/t, down 5.5 per cent YoY, and US$53.99/t in the port of Pisco, down 4.9 per cent when compared with September 2025.
