Cemminerals has ordered two Loesche Vertical Roller Mills (VRMs) with the aim of producing ultra-low carbon binders in locations Ghent (Belgium) and Newport (UK).

The selected mills represent the latest generation of Loesche VRMs ensuring high grinding performance while setting new standards in efficiency and product quality.

Located in the port of Ghent the Loesche VRM will operate next to the existing VRM of Gebr. Pfeiffer, total production capacity increases to 2Mta.

Extra investments in raw material and finished products handling / storage are ongoing to maximise flexibility for delivering ultra low carbon binders.

Located in the port of Newport the Loesche VRM will be part of a greenfield project with a production capacity of 1Mta ultra-low carbon binders.

Both VRMs are expected be operational beginning of 2028
