Australia’s Green360 Technologies has signed a binding agreement to supply Eifers Civil with up to 4800t of its MKX metakaolin supplementary cementitious material over an initial 12-month period.

Eifers becomes Green360’s second commercial MKX supply customer alongside Holcim. The two agreements provide for potential combined deliveries of 9600t across their respective initial annual terms, although actual volumes will depend on customer orders.

MKX is produced from kaolin sourced at Green360’s Pittong operations and calcined at Calix’s Bacchus Marsh facility in Victoria. The material is intended to partially replace Portland cement in concrete and provide an alternative to conventional supplementary cementitious materials such as fly ash and blastfurnace slag.

Supply will be delivered to Eifers’ facility near Melbourne Airport through Green360 subsidiary Suvo Minerals Australia. Eifers has previously used MKX-containing concrete in infrastructure applications and is progressing trials in its Ecofil lightweight cellular concrete range.
