Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced the ARL X’TRA Pro X-ray diffractometer for automated mineralogical analysis in cement and mining laboratories.
The system is designed for unattended operation, with capacity for up to 98 samples. According to the company, throughput ranges from 50 to more than 100 samples per day, depending on analytical requirements. Its X-ray source is rated at up to 3kW.
For cement producers, X-ray diffraction supports the identification and quantification of mineral phases in raw materials, clinker and finished cement. Automated sample handling can help laboratories maintain routine analysis while reducing manual intervention.
