For the first two months of the current fiscal year (July-August 2016) Pakistan's total cement dispatches increased 14 per cent to 4.9Mt when compared to the 4.3Mt recorded in the same period last year. The increase is a result of growing domestic sales, which in August rose by 21 per cent YoY to 3.03Mt, up from 2.5Mt. Pakistan's cement exports have recorded a marked fall in the first 11 months of FY15-16 as overseas demand has dropped and competition has intensified, according to data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association has proposed a number of incentives to facilitate the industry ahead of tomorrow’s 2014-15 Budget announcement.
