Sinoma-CBMI lifts ball mills into position on SC3 project

Sinoma-CBMI is progressing with the modernisation of the Ciments du Sahel plant in Kirene, Senegal. The third clinker line (SC3) project has recently seen the installation of two cement mills lifted into place. The size of each ball mill is 5.2m x19.25m and they weigh in at 208t. The West African Development Bank has approved a XOF25bn loan to help fund a third production line at Ciments du Sahel’s plant in Kirène, near Rufisque, Senegal. The new integrated line will have a capacity of 2.7Mta and increase current capacity at the plant to 5.9Mta. Ciments du Sahel invests EUR250m in new Benin plant

Ciments du Sahel of Senegal is investing EUR250m in a new 2.5Mta cement plant in Benin as the cement producer aims to extend its African reach. Output from the new works, which is expected to open in June 2013, will primarily serve the markets of Benin and nearby countries.
