Argentine February shipments decline

Argentine cement plants shipped 839,223t, including exports, representing a decline of 7.1 per cent on February last year, according to the latest data published by association AFCP. On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the February figure was 8.1 per cent less than the amount shipped in January. However, domestic sales, including imports reached 809,280t, an increase of six per cent YoY but a decline of 8.9 per cent MoM.

Brazil February cement sales edge ahead

Cement sales in the Brazilian cement market in February 2013 reached 5.1Mt, up 2.2 per cent on the same month of last year, according to data released by Sindicato Nacional da Indústria do Cimento. For the first two months of 2013, sales were 10.6Mt an increase of 1.8 per cent YoY. In 2012, domestic sales reached 68.3Mta, an increase of 6.9 per cent over 2011 (63.9Mt).

UltraTech sales decline 6% in February

UltraTech Cement, India’s largest cement producer, has reported a six per cent decline in February 2013 sales, amid wider concerns of subdued demand across the domestic market. Pakistan sales increased 3.2 per cent over the first eight months over the current fiscal, according to initial data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Lebanon sees declining deliveries in 2012

Lebanon cement deliveries dropped by 4.4 per cent YoY in 2012 to 5.308Mt. The decline in cement deliveries and construction permits (which fell by 11.7 per cent in 2012) confirms the slowdown or delay in the initiation of construction projects, according to local press reports. Ecuador records 5.6% rise in 2012 cement sales

The Ecuadorian cement market expanded for a second year running as the Ecuadorian Institute of Cement and Concrete (Inecyc) reported a 5.6 per cent rise in dispatches. Cement producers in Vietnam sold 3.6Mt to the domestic market in January, down 16.28 per cent from the month before due to a stagnant real estate market.
