Vietnam: Quang Ninh province to stop transportation of cement on Ha Long Bay

The People’s Committee of the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh have decided to terminate the loading and discharge activities, as well as the transport of clinker, cement and wood chip on Ha Long Bay due to concerns over environmental pollution. Under the decision No. 617/QD-UBND, transportation of bulk cargo, such as clinker, cement and wood chip is to be terminated as of 1 July 2016. Tanzania: Tanga in talks for increased rail usage

Tanga Cement Co Ltd (TCCL) is finalising discussions with the government of Tanzania to use the Tanga-Moshi railway to Arusha for transportation of its products, according to Prof Makame Mbarawa, Minister for Works, Transport and Communication. Hope Construction Materials and DB Schenker Rail UK have have signed a five-year partnership contract for transport services. The agreement covers the transport of aggregates from the quarry at Dowlow near Buxton in the UK to 10 locations across Britain. Buzzi Unicem USA is to construct a US$7m rail terminal in northwest Temple, Texas, officials announced Friday. The terminal will use at least 1000 rail cars each year for cement distribution.
