State authorities have issued an ultimatum to the oldest cement manufacturer in California, amid growing concern over safety violations. ACC launches eco-friendly cement

ACC Ltd on Saturday launched Concrete +, its eco-friendly cement, targeting the requirements of individual home builders. Concrete + is produced by grinding OPC 53 grade, which is known for adding strength to structures and processed fly ash, said PN Iyer, Director (sales-south) of ACC Ltd, at a press conference.

Saudi factory fined for violating waste disposal rules

DEC accepts Lafarge environmental statement, USA

The NYSDEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) has accepted the FEIS (Final Environmental Impact Statement) from the Lafarge Cement Plant in Ravena as complete.

 The application marks the end of one step in the years-long effort to modernise the cement plant’s operation and the beginning of another phase.

Bamburi Cement dust filter installation, Kenya

The Bamburi cement factory in Kenya is installing a dust filter following complaints by local residents that dust was affecting them. Managing director Hussein Mansi said the project started last month and will be completed by the end of the this month. "We have put proper measures in place to ensure that the problem of dust to the environment is arrested completely," he said.

The Environmental Agency (ARSO) has rejected a request by LafargeCement for a permit that would allow the Trbovlje plant to resume burning waste as an alternative fuel.
