Saudi: Eastern Province Cement Co begins trial operations of new mill

Eastern Province Cement Co has commenced trial operations of its new 150tph cement mill, with commercial operations set to begin in the second quarter of this year, according to a bourse statement issued Monday. The Saudi cement producer added that the relevant financial impact is difficult to be set at this stage as it depends on market supply and demand.

The foundation stone for the Emami Cement's new grinding plant was laid by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Panagarh, West Bengal, on Saturday. "The 2Mta capacity unit is to be located at WBIDC Panagarh Industrial Park in Burdwan district of West Bengal at an investment of INR500 crore [INR5bn/US$73m]," a statement by Emami Cement said. Yoo Gyeong CM Co of Korea has awarded a contract to Loesche for the grinding of granulated blast furnace slag at its brownfield KyungNam terminal. At the core of the order is a Loesche LM 41.2+2 CS mill with a capacity of 90tph at 4500Blaine. The gearbox of this mill has a power output of 2800kW. Tianjin Cement Industry Design & Research Institute (TCIDRI) has placed an order for a Loesche LM 48.4 vertical roller mill (VRM) for the 'Sivas 2 RM' project by Votorantim Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS in Turkey. Emami Cement Ltd has placed an order for a Gebr Pfeiffer grinding plant which will be installed in Odisha state, India. The contract includes an MVR 6000 C-6 with an installed drive power of 6700kW.
