Gebr Pfeiffer has received an order from HeidelbergCement for a vertical roller mill, which is due to be set up in its new 3000tpd kiln line at the group’s Kaspi plant in Georgia. Savannah Cement has unveiled plans to increase its Athi River plant to 2.4Mta, almost doubling its current 1.5Mta capacity, Business Daily Africa reports. India’s Ambuja Cement has added 0.9Mta of capacity to its Sankrail grinding unit near Kolkata. The INR3.38bn (US$50.2m) project was commissioned on 24 May 2016. Loesche GmbH, Germany, has signed a new contract with Sinoma-NCDRI, China, to supply three vertical roller mills to Thanh Thang Group Cement JSC in Vietnam. Lafarge inaugurates new solid waste grinding unit in France

Lafarge has inaugurated a new solid waste grinding facility at its Saint-Pierre-la-Cour cement works in Mayenne, France. The new unit will help the French cement producer to increase its thermal substitution rate to over 80 per cent. The company sources around 60 per cent of its waste from the Loire and Bretagne area.

Philippines: Norzagaray plant inaugurates Horomill grinding mill

Republic Cement & Building Materials Inc inaugurated a 0.85Mta grinding mill at its cement plant in  Norzagaray, Bulacan province, Philippines, on Tuesday. Renato Sunico, president of Republic Cement, said that the FCB Horomill will lift the cement plant's total grinding capacity to 1.85Mta. The Norzagaray unit now comes under the wing of newly-formed CRH-Aboitiz Co following the divestment of assets by Lafarge Republic Inc last year.
