Pioneer Cement sees profits fall by 38% in 1QFY19

Pioneer Cement Ltd (PCL) announced its financial results for the 1QFY19 on 25 October. Pioneer Cement reports 1HFY18 profit fall

Pioneer Cement Ltd has announced that its net profit for the period 1HFY18 fell by 51 per cent to PKR737m (US$6.6m). T his was reportedly due to a decrease in sale, increase in cost of sales as well as higher in distribution and administrative expenses. The financing cost has also increased to PKR49m from PKR2.5m. Pioneer Cement Ltd has awarded Loesche with the contract for four vertical roller mills (VRMs) for its new production line at its Chenki/Kushab district, Punjab. The new line will expand the cement producer’s production capacity at the site to 8000tpd. Pakistan cement producer Pioneer Cement Ltd has reported post-tax profits of PKR2.51bn (US$24m) for the financial year ended June 2016, a rise of 0.9 per cent YoY. Pioneer Cement and CITIC sign agreement for WHR plant, Pakistan

Pioneer Cement has signed an agreement with CITIC Heavy Industries, China, to purchase a waste heat recovery (WHR) plant with a power generation capacity of 12MW. According to the company notice sent to the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Wednesday, the total estimated cost of the plant is PKR1.5bn (US$14.7m). Pioneer Cement's 2.03Mta plant is located at Chenki, District Khusshab, in the heart of Punjab province, 250km from Lahore.
