Pakistan's Kohat Cement Company announced that it will participate in the bidding process for the acquisition of 1.1bn ordinary shares of PKR10 each of Lafarge Pakistan, representing 75.86 per cent of the total issued and paid-up share capital of Lafarge Pakistan, according to local news service The News. Raysut sales ease in first nine months, Oman

Raysut Cement, the leading cement producer in Oman, reported a rise in pretax profit for the first nine months of 2013, but sales eased due in part to competition from neighbouring UAE. During the Jan-September 2013 period the company reported a 12.6 per cent YoY rise in net profit before tax of OMR21.52m (US$55.9m). Raysut Cement board approves US$24m investment plan

The board of directors of Raysut Cement, Oman, has approved investments in four projects totalling US$24m in markets where the company is already present as well as new venture in Somalia. The projects include a cement terminal in Duqm port, Oman, which will also see the construction of two silos with a capacity of 4000t. British Virgin Islands based - Vision Holdings Middle East Limited announced on that it will acquire 60,145,081 (26.47%) ordinary shares of Pakistan-based cement producer Pioneer Cement, at an offer price of PKR6.34 per share.
