Peru’s February cement sales

Peru’s overall cement sales in February fell 4.9 per cent to 334,171t from the 351,255t sold in the same month last year, the National Association of Cement Producers, or Asocem, said Tuesday.  In January, overall cement sales totaled 366,035t.  Cementos Lima SA sold 170,001t of cement in February, which includes 33,450t sold for export in the month, the association said.  In the first two months of the year, overall cement sales totaled 733,656t, a 6.5 per cent increase from the 688,808t so...

Cement Demand in Saudi Arabia

Cement demand in Saudi Arabia is expected to increase by up to 80 per cent in the next few years, compared to its current levels, according to unofficial sources from the country’s construction sector, local media reported on March 13, 2005.  The forecast is based on the current boom in the Kingdom’s construction and real estate sector. At present, cement on the local market retails at some 230 Saudi riyals ($61.33) per tonne.

Cement despatches of the Aditya Birla Group during February fell by 0.93 per cent to 2.18Mt over the same month last fiscal while production was marginally up by 0.79 per cent at 2.23Mt. Retail cement prices set to rise in the north

Retail cement prices in north India are set to increase by Rs10 per 50 kg bag on account of a spike in demand in the region. The prices are currently around Rs 165 for a 50 kg bag.   "After low pick-up in the month of February owing to an extreme winter, sales are now steady.
