Vietnam northern province to divest state stakes in Lang Son Cement

The People’s Committee of Vietnam’s northern province of Lang Son plans to sell state stakes in Lang Son Cement JSC (LCC) at a put-through price is set at VND1380 ($0.06) each plus a margin of 15 per cent, the Dau Tu newspaper reported. LCC has a registered capital of VND58.39bn, of which the committee holds a 43.55 per cent stake, according to CaFef.vn newswire reported.

Vietnam: MoC forecasts 2016 sales rise of 4-7%

Vietnam's sales of cement and clinker are predicted to rise 4-7 per cent YoY in 2016 to between 75-77Mt, according to forecasts by the country's Ministry of Construction (MoC). Vietnam sold 58.66Mt of cement and clinker in the first 10 months of this year, rising one per cent from a year earlier and fulfilling 80 per cent of the whole-year target, the Building Material Department under the Ministry of Construction said. Vietnam output reaches 54.8Mt in first 10 months

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 54.8Mt of cement in the first 10 months of this year, up 10.4 per cent from a year ago, the government-run General Statistics Office said. The figures include an output of 6.1Mt in October, an increase 10.8 per cent. In the first nine months, the country’s cement production hit 48.7Mt, according to the revised figure. Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) on Wednesday signed a credit contract with Thanh Thang Cement Corp to develop a second line at the Vietnamese cement producer's plant in the northern province of Ha Nam. Vicem nine-month sales reach 16.32Mt

Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, sold 16.32Mt of cement and clinker in the first nine months of this year, up 1.5 per cent from a year earlier. The Ho Chi Minh City government has rejected Ha Tien 1 Cement JS's  plans to relocate its Thu Duc cement grinding plant to District 9 and scale up the capacity of its Phu Huu grinding unit. Vicem Hoang Mai Cement plans new plant, Vietnam

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement JSC has announced plans to build a cement factory at an estimated cost of VND10.8trn (US$480m) in the central Vietnam province of Nghe An. The Hoang Mai Cement 2 factory will be constructed in the 2016-20 period in two phases, providing more than 2Mta of cement after the completion of each phase. Vietnam’s cement sector is unlikely to fulfill this year’s export target of over 20Mt of cement and clinker, the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA) said.
