Bangladesh remains Vietnam's strongest export market

From January to April, Vietnam exported 5.99Mt of cement and clinker to Bangladesh, which remains Vietnam's largest export market with US$64.46m. The Philippines (US$58.47m), Taiwan (US$10.67m), Mozambique (US$9.9m), and Chile (US$9.72m) are also major importers of Vietnamese cement. Vietnam's cement consumption in these four months was also very positive reaching 18.85Mt, representing an increase of 117.4 per cent YoY.

Vietnam: Loesche to supply new Long Son Cement plant

Loesche GmbH, Germany, has signed a new contract with Sinoma-NCDRI, China, to supply a new mill to Long Son Company in Vietnam. Long Son is building a new cement plant at Dong Son Bim Son and the equipment is to be delivered in the next 8-9 months. Loesche will supply a type LM 56.4 mill with a performance of 520 t/h. The gearbox of this mill has a power output of 3,600 kW.

Vietnam sees output rise 16% in Jan-Apr 2016

Vietnam cement producers have produced 24.4Mt of cement in Jan-Apr 2016, up 15.8 per cent YoY, according to estimates from the government-run General Statistics Office. In April 2016 output is expected to have risen 12.5 per cent when compared to April 2015, said the organisation in a report. SCG forecasts regional capacity will hit 292Mta by 2018

In a presentation to investors earlier this month, Siam Cement Group (SCG) disclosed that it expects capacity in Thailand and nearby markets will reach 292Mta in two years' time, up from 251Mta in 2015. Vietnam is estimated to have produced 11Mt of cement in the first quarter of this year, rising one per cent from a year earlier, the government-run General Statistics Office said.
