Vietnam is estimated to have produced 50.6Mt of cement in the first eight months of 2016, a 15.2 per cent increase from the same period last year, according the the government-run General Statistics Office. LafargeHolcim Ltd has signed an agreement with Siam City Cement Public Company Ltd f or the divestment of its 65 pe rcent shareholding in LafargeHolcim Vietnam, it said on Thursday. Vietnam's Building Material Department, under the Ministry of Construction, reports that cement producers in the country sold 38.7Mt of cement and clinker in the first half of this year, rising 12.4 per cent from a year earlier.
