Bim Son Cement JSC has awarded Loesche the contract to supply a vertical roller mill for the grinding of clinker and granulated blast furnace slag at the Bim Son cement plant in Thanh Hóa province, Vietnam. Authorities of Vietnam’s southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have approved a proposal by Thanh Long Co Ltd to develop an inland waterway port to meet the transport requirement's for the Holcim cement plant. Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City has proposed Vietnam's Ministry of Construction to adjust its cement development plan, so that no new cement projects will be licensed in the metropolis and existing plants will be relocated. Vietnam sold 33.27Mt of cement in the first five months of this year, an increase of six per cent YoY, fulfilling 41.58 per cent of the whole-year target, the country's Ministry of Construction said. Vietnam output up 8.1%

Vietnam produced 33.6Mt of cement in the first five months of this year, up 8.1 per cent from a year earlier, including 7.7Mt in May, up 12.1 per cent, according to latest data of the government-run General Statistics Office. In the first four months, Vietnamese cement producers manufactured 25.9Mt of cement, according to the office’s revised figure. Vietnam exported more than 1.9Mt of cement and clinker, reflecting an export value of US$67.4m, according to the country’s Customs Department. This represents a YoY increase of 6.7 and 7.6 per cent, respectively. In the first four months of the year, the country exported 6.7Mt of cement and clinker, up 12.8 per cent YoY. Vietnam exported 4.82Mt of cement and clinker worth US$168.65m in the first quarter of this year, representing 11 per cent increase YoY in volume and 6.4 per cent in value, according to the latest data of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
