Dong Lam Cement JSC will invest VND4.7trn (US$221m) on a new plant in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue. The Dong Lam cement plant in Phong Dien district currently has a clinker and cement capacity of 5000tpd and 2Mta, respectively. Vietnam cement sales exceed 40Mt

Vietnam cement companies sold 41.54Mt of cement in the domestic market in the first 10 months of this year, including 4.27Mt in October, the country’s Ministry of Construction (MoC) said. Semen Indonesia is reportedly preparing to double capacity of the Thang Long Cement Plant in Vietnam with the construction of a second line, according to local news reports. Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan were the largest importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement in the first nine months of this year, according to data released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. During the period, Indonesia imported 1.76Mt of clinker and cement worth US$83m from Vietnam, while Malaysia acquired 1.05Mt worth US$52m and Taiwan purchased 969,678t worth US$41.7m. Vietnam 10-month domestic sales up

Vietnam's total cement sales including exports increased six per cent YoY to reach 53.22Mt in the first 10 months of 2014, latest data from the country's Construction Ministry's Building Material Department reveals. Vietnam’s cement sales are estimated to have fallen by three per cent YoY during October to 5.37Mt, latest data from the country's Ministry of Construction shows. Of the total sales volumes, domestic shipments accounted for 4.25Mt. In the first 10 months of the year, total sales are estimated to have risen six per cent YoY to 53.22Mt, including 41.51Mt for the local market. Vietnam is estimated to have produced 5.2Mt of cement in October, up 8.33 per cent from September and 10.3 per cent from a year ago, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said. Vietnam cement prices to rise?

The price of cement in Vietnam could be increased this month, according to the country's Ministry of Finance, without stating a reason for the potential rise. Cement is currently sold for VND1.05m-1.5m/t (US$49.5-70.7) in the northern region and VND1.46m-1.8m/t in the south. Clinker and cement export prices were also stable at US$38.2 and US$55.2/t, respectively, the ministry added.

Vicem Jan-Sept sales edge ahead

State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, said it sold 16.14Mt of cement and clinker in the first nine months of this year, up 1.6 per cent from a year ago. Hoang Mai Cement JSC (HOM), an affiliate of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), forecast its net revenue at VND1.7trn (US$80m) and pretax profit at VND45bn, thank to a rebound in demand of cement in the local market.
