Vietnam: Jan cement sales down 18.6% YoY

Vietnam’s domestic sales declined by 18.6 per cent YoY in the first month of this year to 2.93Mt due to subdued real estate activity, the country’s Ministry of Construction (MoC) has said. Exports during January 2014 totalled 820,000t, including 170,000t of cement, the MoC said on its website. Vietnam: cement plant project licence withdrawn

Authorities of the Quang Tri province in central Vietnam are to withdraw the investment licence of a cement plant project due to sluggish implementation. Vietnam export sales hit new high

Ministry of Construction (MoC), said cement output in 2013 hit 70Mt while sales rose 14 per cent YoY to 61Mt. Cement exports reached a record high of more than 14Mt during the year as producers turn to overseas sales amid fierce competition in an overcrowded domestic market. Vietnam's Jan cement output increases

Vietnam is estimated to produce 4.8Mt of cement in January, up three per cent YoY but down 13.24 per cent from December 2013, the government General Statistics Office said in a monthly report. The office revised down the country’s cement output in December 2013 to 5.5Mt the earlier estimated figure of 5.7Mt. In 2013, Vietnam’s cement output hit 56.84Mt, according to the revised figure.

Sai Son Cement reverses losses, Vietnam

Vietnamese producer Sai Son Cement (SCJ) swung to a net profit of VND7.1bn (US$80,648) in the fourth quarter of 2013 after a net loss of VND2bn in the same period the year before. Revenue amounted to VND104bn (US$4.93m) in the final quarter of last year, compared to VND72bn over the same period of the previous year. For the full year, SCJ reported VND7.6bn net profit on revenue of VND320bn compared to a loss of VND12bn in net profit and VND251.3bn revenue, respectively.

Bim Son Cement sales reach 3.9Mt in 2013

Vietnam-based producer Bim Son Cement JSC (BCC) sold 3.9Mt of cement and clinker in 2013, comprising 3.4Mt of cement and 588,000t of clinker. The company’s clinker output was more than 3.9Mt last year. Its revenue rose by 0.6 per cent YoY to VND3.8trn, the Dau Tu newspaper reported. For this year, Bim Son Cement targets output of more than 3Mta of clinker, while cement and clinker sales will hit 4Mt, including 3.8Mt of cement.  Revenue for 2014 is expected to reach VND4.1trn.

Vicem 2013 revenue rises 7% YoY

Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), Vietnam’s leading domestic producer, said its revenues rose by seven per cent YoY in 2013 to more than VND30.5trn (US$1.45bn). Vietnam cement sales exceed annual target

Vietnam cement sales climbed by 13.9 per cent YoY in 2013, exceeding the full-year target by 7.5 per cent, according to the Ministry of Construction (MoC). Latest figures by the MoC show that sales reached 61Mt for the year, including 47Mt of domestic dispatches (up 3.4 per cent YoY) and 14Mt of exports (up by 6Mt). PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, the holding company for domestic producers Semen Gresik, Semen Padang and Semen Tonasa and Vietnam-based Thang Long Cement, is upbeat on its outlook for 2014 following a positive performance last year. Vicem sets 2014 revenue targets

Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (VICEM, the country's leading cement producer, is targeting more than VND30trn (US$1.4m) in revenue this year. To meet these goals, the company will focus on cost reduction strategies, renew production techniques, among other measures. Last year VICEM witnessed a 8.8 per cent YoY ncrease in clinker and cement output. The firm also accounted for over 16Mt out of the almost 46Mt of cement the country produced in 2013.
