Mai Son cement plant put into operation, Vietnam

Mai Son Cement Joint Stock Co has officially put its Mai Son cement plant into operation. The new cement plant is situated in Na Pat Hamlet, Na Bo Commune, Mai Son Dist, Son La province with design capacity of 2500tpd of clinker (1Mta of cement). The company said it will concentrate on producing three types of cement: PCB40, PCB30 and PC40.

Vietnam domestic production seen down 7.2%, Jan-May 2012

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 22.5Mt of cement in the first five months of this year, down 7.2% from a year earlier, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said in its monthly report. Production in the month of May is estimated to have reached 5.5Mt, up 5.5% YoY. Vietnam four-month sales at 14.7Mt

Vietnam’s cement sales stood at 14.7Mt in the first four months of this year, fulfilling 26.8% of the whole-year target, including 4.73Mt in April. The country also produced 14.85Mt of cement in Jan-Apr period, making up 27% of the whole-year target, including 4.81Mt in April, the Ministry of Construction said on its website late Wednesday. Cement producers in Vietnam are estimated to have made 17.8Mt of cement in the first four months of this year, down 6.6% from a year earlier. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 4.04Mt of cement and clinker in the first quarter of this year, falling 14 per cent from a year earlier and fulfilling 91 per cent of its full-year target, the corporation said on its website. Vietnam first-quarter cement consumption at 9.57Mt

Vietnam’s cement sales stood at 9.57Mt in the first quarter of this year, meeting 17.4 per cent of the whole-year plan, due to the implementation of several projects in March that lead to the strong demand, the Ministry of Construction said. Hoang Mai Cement to invest in new line, Vietnam

Shareholders of Vicem’s Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Co have agreed invest VND102.7bn in projects this year. Local press report that the company plans to spend VND67bn in building a new production line in Hoang Mai 2 cement plant with designed capacity of 4.5Mta. In 2012, the company has set targets to reach total revenue of VND1.645trn, pre-tax profit of VND163bn, increasing by 11.4 per cent and 7.8 per cent respectively against 2011.

Vietnam cement manufacturers are estimated to have produced 12.1Mt of cement in the first quarter of this year, down 10.7% from a year earlier. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 2.11Mt of cement and clinker in the first two months of this year, falling 12.2 per cent from a year earlier, the corporation said on its website.
