Steppe Cement posts 8% revenue rise in 2019

Kazakhstan-based Steppe Cement has posted revenues of KZT30.534bn (US$81m) for the year ended 31 December 2019. This represents a rise of eight per cent when compared with 2018. The company sold 1,715,761t of cement in 2019, marginally lower than the previous year. Steppe Cement is the country's fourth-largest cement producer with a total cement capacity of 1.9Mta. It operates two plants in Karaganda: the 1.1Mta Central Asia Cement works and the 0.8Mta Karcement unit.

Universal Cement Corp records 5% revenue increase for 2019

Taiwan’s Universal Cement Corp has seen its full-year 2019 revenue increase 4.7 per cent YoY to TWD5bn (US$166.91m), compared with TWD4.78bn in 2018. The result comes despite recording a 1.7 per cent YoY fall in revenue for the final month of the year, which decreased to TWD457.6m from TWD465.5m.

Hsing Ta Cement sees 17% revenue increase in 2019

Taiwan’s Hsing Ta Cement has seen its full-year revenue surge 16.7 per cent YoY in 2019, increasing to TWD7.82bn (US$260.8m) from TWD6.7bn in the year-ago period. However, in the month of December 2019 the company saw a slight 2.3 per cent YoY decline in revenue to TWD691.6m.

Gabon cement output jumps 21% in 9M19

Cement production in Gabon has increased by 20.7 per cent in the first nine months of 2019, according to DirectInfosGabon. Output from CIMAF and CimGabon reached 421,356t. Cement sales advanced by 17.7 per cent to 413,604t due to strong local demand, mainly from the self-build sector during the dry season. Cement company revenues were up 15.8 per cent YoY to XAF39.864bn (US$68m).

Fecto forms new subsidiary, reports fall in domestic sales

Fecto Cement Ltd has approved the formation of a wholly-owned subsidiary to implement the investment in a new cement plant. Dandot Cement Company Ltd (DNCC) of Pakistan has announced its financial results for the first quarter ended September 2019, yesterday. Taiwan’s Universal Cement Corp has seen a 17 per cent YoY surge in November revenue to TWD493.4m (US$16.19m) from TWD421.8m in the same period of 2018. In the first 11 months of 2019, revenue increased 5.4 per cent YoY to TWD4.55bn against TWD4.32bn of January-November 2018.

Taiwan Cement Corp has posted a revenue of TWD11.678bn (US$383m) for November 2019, a modest decline of 0.9 per cent from TWD11.784bn from the corresponding period of last year. Between January-November this year, the company has seen revenue decrease 2.4 per cent YoY to TWD110.45bn from TWD113.2bn of the 11M18.

India’s Sagar Cements has seen the company's standalone cement production/purchase decline 27.4 per cent to 172,160t in November 2019, compared to 236,967t in the year-ago period. Consolidated cement production was down 23.1 per cent YoY to 244,291t from 317,796t. Standalone cement sales for the month also fell 29.4 per cent to 167,720t from 237,409t sold in November 2018.
