Carthage Cement reports 5% turnover rise in 2019

Tunisia-based Carthage Cement saw its total revenues increase by five per cent to TND249.6m (US$4.9m) from TND238.2m in 2019. Cement production rose 17 per cent YoY to 1.478Mt (2018: 1.263Mt). Clinker output was up six per cent to 1.5Mt when compared with 1.42Mt. On 21 January 2020, Attock Cement Pakistan Ltd (ACPL) announced its 1HFY19-20 financial results (for the period ended 31 December 2019). Jiangxi Wannianqing Cement projects profit increase for 2019

China’s Jiangxi Wannianqing Cement has projected its net profit to rise from CNY1.1bn (US$160.26m) to between CNY1.28-1.5bn for 2019. The company has attributed the profit increase to the structural reforms of the cement industry and steady growth in demand for the region where it is based. This has resulted in the advancement of the company’s cement sales and product prices.

Oman Cement has recorded a 45.3 per cent fall in its net profit to OMR4m (US$10.4m) for 2019, compared to OMR7.3m in the previous year. Total revenue also declined four per cent YoY to OMR50.12m from OMR52.19m.

Raysut Cement records surge in profit for 2019

Oman’s Raysut Cement Co has seen a 1156.9 per cent surge in profit to OMR4.3m (US$11.2m) in its unaudited results for 2019, compared to OMR343,652 in the previous year. However, total revenue has decreased 7.6 per cent YoY to OMR85.68m from OMR92.76m in 2018.

Gansu Qilianshan Cement expects 85% rise in profit

China’s Gansu Qilianshan Cement expects to realise a net profit of around CNY1.21bn (US$174m) in 2019, an increase of approximately 85 per cent compared to CNY654.8m last year. The company has attributed the results to an increase in product sales and improved cost control after upgrading the efficiency of its production and operations.

Steppe Cement posts 8% revenue rise in 2019

Kazakhstan-based Steppe Cement has posted revenues of KZT30.534bn (US$81m) for the year ended 31 December 2019. This represents a rise of eight per cent when compared with 2018. The company sold 1,715,761t of cement in 2019, marginally lower than the previous year. Steppe Cement is the country's fourth-largest cement producer with a total cement capacity of 1.9Mta. It operates two plants in Karaganda: the 1.1Mta Central Asia Cement works and the 0.8Mta Karcement unit.

Universal Cement Corp records 5% revenue increase for 2019

Taiwan’s Universal Cement Corp has seen its full-year 2019 revenue increase 4.7 per cent YoY to TWD5bn (US$166.91m), compared with TWD4.78bn in 2018. The result comes despite recording a 1.7 per cent YoY fall in revenue for the final month of the year, which decreased to TWD457.6m from TWD465.5m.

Hsing Ta Cement sees 17% revenue increase in 2019

Taiwan’s Hsing Ta Cement has seen its full-year revenue surge 16.7 per cent YoY in 2019, increasing to TWD7.82bn (US$260.8m) from TWD6.7bn in the year-ago period. However, in the month of December 2019 the company saw a slight 2.3 per cent YoY decline in revenue to TWD691.6m.
