Cement consumption in Argentina has decreased by 0.8 per cent YoY and 6.7 per cent MoM to 1,131,593t in October 2022 from 1,140,962t in October 2021, according to the Argentine Portland cement association, AFCP. Moroccan cement dispatches down 16% in October

Cement deliveries by APC members in Morocco declined by 16.4 per cent YoY to 1,048,975t in October 2022 from 1,254,798t in October 2021, according to the Moroccan cement association, APC. The association’s members include Asment Temara, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc. In the first 10 months of 2022, deliveries were down 9.2 per cent YoY to 10.432Mt from 11.491Mt in the 10M21.

Colombian cement market expands 2% in September

Cement dispatches in Colombia increased 2.1 per cent YoY to 1.188Mt in September 2022 when compared with September 2021, when 1.164Mt of cement were dispatched, according to the country’s statistics agency, DANE. Cement consumption in Vietnam increased by 37 per cent YoY in August 2022, according to data published by the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). VICEM sales improved by 39 per cent YoY to 1,555,599t in August, while VNCA-affiliated companies saw their combined sales surge by 68 per cent YoY to 10,150,041t. Hurricane Fiona has sent Puerto Rican cement sales in a downward spiral as sales in September 2022 dropped by 21.1 per cent YoY to 986,000 bags of 94lb, or 42,041t, the largest fall since 2020, according to Sin Comillas. Domestic cement production declined 17.5 per cent YoY to 509,900 bags, or 21,741t in September 2022. The decrease represents the first fall in six months.
