Oman Cement 2014 profit declines on weaker sales, clinker imports

Oman Cement reported a 12.8 per cent decline in net profit on account of weaker sales, lower clinker production and higher volumes of imported clinker, the company said on Monday. Mangalam Cement’s board of directors have approved the construction of a new grinding plant in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Kenya’s Savannah Cement confirmed plans to invest more than KES18bn (US$199m) in its second high-efficiency milling unit to meet the growing demand in the Kenyan market.
