Cemex Colombia has awarded Wärtsilä the four-year extension to the operation and maintenance (O&M), marking a 25-year continuous partnership by 2023. APO Cement resumes operation of kiln lines

APO Cement (Cemex) has resumed operation of its two kilns at its cement plant in the Philippines, two weeks after they were closed due to the unavailability of raw materials. The manufacturer will therefore reinstate the employees who were temporarily suspended, according to BusinessWorld. In addition, the company will no longer close its terminal in Davao City.

Holcim's Siggenthal plant returns to service

Holcim's Siggenthal works in Switzerland has restarted its cement production with an activated carbon filter after the equipment was badly damaged in a fire in February. The fire was attributed to self-igniting coal dust, which first led to a smouldering fire on 16 February and then developed in an open fire, damaging the activated carbon filter.
