Tender bids for Habesha Cement Factory, Ethiopia

One Indian and four Chinese companies offered tenders for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of Habesha Cement Factory, Ethiopia, according to local press reports. New order for Polysius in Brazil

Polysius is to build a new 2500tpd kiln line for Ciplan Cimento Planalto SA at the Sobradinho cement factory, situated about 22km northeast of the Brazilian capital city of Brasilia.  The six-stage DOPOL® preheater with PREPOL®-AS calcining system and 4.0m x 60m rotary kiln is due to go into operation at the end of 2010. This is already the third kiln line constructed by Polysius in Sobradinho.

Volvo secures truck order from Derba Cement, Ethiopia

Volvo Trucks has signed an agreement to deliver trucks to Derba Cement in Ethiopia. Derba Cement is planning to purchase approximately 1000 trucks and an order has been placed for 550 trucks to be delivered during 2010. Owing to the shortage of cement in Ethiopia, Derba Cement is in the process of increasing its production capacity and a new production facility is planned to be completed late 2010. FLSmith wins cement order in China

FLSmidth has signed a contract with Chinese cement producer Conch to supply a 12,000tpd cement kiln for the Tongling plant in the Anhui province in eastern China. 

With an annual production capacity in excess of 100Mt cement, Conch is the largest cement producer in China. The Tongling plant’s two existing kilns, each with a capacity of 10,000tpd, were delivered by FLSmidth in 2002-03. FLSmidth has not since supplied cement kilns to Chinese customers.

Saudi Southern Province Cement to boost production

Saudi cement producer Southern Province Cement (SPC) and Sinoma have signed a SAR552m (US$147m) contract to boost SPC’s production capacity, the Saudi firm said Saturday in a bourse filing. The turnkey contract, to be executed over a period of 23 months, calls for setting up a second production line with a daily capacity of 5000t at SPC’s plant in Tuhama. SPC operates three factories. ABB wins gearless mill drive order from Indian producer??

ABB announces that it has won an order for the first gearless mill drive (GMD) system ever to be installed in an Indian manufacturing plant. The order was placed at the end of October, by the Indian cement manufacturer Lalitha Cement Ltd. (LCL), located in Hyderabad, the capital of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
