Tarmac introduces a fully-recyclable hybrid bag

Tarmac (CRH Group) has moved to using 50 per cent recycled plastic in its packaging, with the release of new all-weather, fully-recyclable hybrid bag.  Manufacturing facilities in Scotland and Wales are all now in production with the new bag, which offers rip, tear and puncture resistance, as well as providing essential protection against rain and water damage. Tarmac (CRH Group) has promoted a local employee as its new plant manager at Dunbar Cement. Chris Bradbury, who previously worked at Tarmac’s Tunstead plant in Derbyshire, began working in the industry as an apprentice in 1994 and has experience of working at cement plants in UK, Nigeria and the Philippines. Breedon announces revenues of GBP928.7m in 2020

Breedon Group Plc has announced its annual results for the year ended 31 December 2020 when it achieved revenues of GBP928.7m (US$1.29bn) and profit before tax of GBP48.1m, down from GBP94.6m in 2019.  The company sold 2Mt of cement as it did in 2019, and decreased aggregate sales to 21.7Mt in 2020 from 20.2Mt in 2019. Cementir sees strong regional sales in Turkey

Cementir Holding’s consolidated results for 2020 saw a surge in Turkish local cement demand and exports. Cementir Holding's consolidated results for 2020 saw cement and clinker sales volumes total 10.7Mt, up by 12.9 per cent compared to 2019. This increase was mainly due to the upturn in sales in Turkey where cement volumes rose by 39 per cent over the year. Cemex to end fossil fuel use at Rugby plant

Cemex is investing US$25m in a new fuel system at Rugby Cement plant in the UK as part of its ‘Future in Action’ programme to achieve carbon neutrality.
