Building Al Ain
To help realise its plans to expand its building materials portfolio in the United Arab Emirates, Arkan Building Materials Co contracted Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd to construct its new Al Ain Cement Factory (ACF) at the Arkan Industrial Park in Al Ain, UAE. Satisfied with the completed plant, the cement producer also subsequently awarded the China-based firm with the operations contract. As one of the largest cement factories in the world with Sinoma full proprietary intellectual property rights, ACF has a clinker capacity of 11,000tpd and is capable of producing up to 4.5Mta of cement. Sinoma’s scope of supply ranged from raw materials to cement distribution and covered engineering design, equipment supply, construction and commissioning of the works.
The new line was the second 10,000tpd production facility to be built by Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd after its first successful commissioning of Union Cement’s 10,000tpd line, UAE, in 2005.
