FLSmidth reports 22% decline in cement order intake in 2020

FLSmidth’s order intake in 2020 was on par with last year, comprising 13 per cent growth in mining and a 22 per cent decline in cement. FLSmidth enters fabric filter technology agreement with Simatek

FLSmidth has agreed to sell its fabric filter technology, a non-core business of FLSmidth's advanced filter technology (AFT) to Denmark-based industrial filter producer, Simatek A/S. In the 3Q20 FLSmidth’s revenue amounted to DKK3834m (US$4181m) compared to DKK4736m in the 3Q19, down 19 per cent. Organic revenue decreased by 12 per cent, comprising a one per cent increase in mining and a 33 per cent decline in cement. FLSmidth's revenue in 2020 is forecast to be DKK15.5bn-17bn (US$2.48bn-2.72bn), says the company. EBITA margin is expected to be 4.5-6 per cent, which takes into account around DKK210m of implementation costs related to business improvement activities.
