Ecuador enjoys 13% YoY increase in 1H13 sales

Ecuador’s cement producers delivered 523,525t of cement to the domestic market in June, representing a 6.4 per cent YoY rise and a 4.2 per cent MoM increase. In May cement sales reached 553,278t. According to data from local cement association Inecyc, the Jan-Jun 2013 period, total sales increased by 12.7 per cent to 3,107,306t from 2,779,812t in the equivalent period of 2012.

Domestic cement sales on the Ecuadorian market in the first four months of 2013 rose by 14.2 per cent YoY while April sales alone surpassed 500,000t. Latest data from the country's cement association INECYC shows that dispatches for the three months to the end of April 2013 reached 2.03Mt compared to 1.79Mt in the same period of last year. Domestic cement sales on the Ecuadorian market in the first quarter of 2013 rose by 10.5 per cent YoY while March sales almost reached the half-a-million-tonne mark. Cement sales in Ecuador in February 2012 increased 13.4 per cent YoY to 447,928t compared to 395,047t in the same month of last year, data from the Ecuadorian Institute of Cement and Concrete (Inecyc) showed. The Ecuadorian cement market expanded for a second year running as the Ecuadorian Institute of Cement and Concrete (Inecyc) reported a 5.6 per cent rise in dispatches. Ecuador saw a 18.7 per cent rise in cement demand in January 2013 as the market expanded from 452,647t in January 2012 to 537,391t last month, according to the latest figures published by the country’s cement association Inecyc. Domestic cement sales in Ecuador reached 561,534t in November 2012, an increase of 11.1 per cent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the latest data from the Instituto Ecuatoriano del Cemento (INECYC). For the first 11 months of the year, accumulated sales totalled 5.5Mt, representing a 5.8 per cent YoY rise compared to the same period of 2011, INECYC figures shows.

Domestic cement sales in Ecuador reached 586,426t in October 2012, 13 per cent ahed of the same month of 2011, according to the latest data from local cement association Instituto Ecuatoriano del Cemento (INECYC). For the first 10 months of the year, accumulated sales have totalled 4.9Mt, representing a 5.2 per cent YoY rise compared to the same period of 2011, INECYC figures shows.

Sales by domestic cement producers in Ecuador reached 4.36Mt between January-September 2012, up 4.3 per cent YoY compared to the same period of last year (4.18Mt). Data from the Instituto Ecuatoriano del Cement Y Hormigon shows that sales for September 2012 reached 519,919t representing a 4.1 per cent rise compared to September 2011 figures which stood at 499,369t.
