Eurocement’s Ukraine operations see further market growth

Plants operating under the Eurocement-Ukraina network produced more than 1.2Mt of cement in the first nine months of 2012. More than 1.22Mt of cement have been sold in the reporting period. According to VV Gorgolyuk, CEO of Eurocement-Ukraina, results during the period indicate that the potential for further market growth and the strengthening of leadership position in the market of the plants included in Eurocement-Ukraina still have not been exhausted.

Eurocement to construct new plant, Russia

Russia’s leading cement producer is planning to build a new cement plant in the Blagodarnensky district of the Stavropol territory. Oskolcement increases 1H shipments by 6.1%

Russia-based producer Oskolcement has reported shipments of 1.5Mt for the first six months of 2012, representing a YoY increase of 6.1 per cent. In terms of distribution, thanks to a fleet of new trucks purchased by parent company Eurocement, deliveries by road increased by 17.1 per cent YoY.

BaselCement unit appeals Eurocement’s claim, Russia

BaselCement-Pikalyovo has filed an appeal against a decision by the Moscow Arbitration Court to raise a RUB111.2m for losses filed by Eurocement Group, according to local media reports. Eurocement Group was looking to increase the claimed amount in terms of non-received profits. The losses were incurred after BaselCement-Pikalyovo refused to supply nepheline slime to Eurocement group. On April 17, the Moscow Arbitration Court approved Eurocement’s claim. Eurocement Ukraine records 2011 losses

Eurocement Ukraine, one of the three largest Ukrainian cement producers, ended 2011 with losses of UAH46.048m, the company announced in a statement. In 2011, Eurocement Ukraine increased net revenues by 16.18% or UAH191m compared to 2010, to UAH1,374m. Assets of Eurocement Ukraine were recorded at 929m, current liabilities at UAH258m, and total accounts receivable UAH1156m. Leading Russian cement producer Eurocement has placed an order for more than €80m with KHD for a new cement plant to be built in Stavropol, Russia. The contract between Stavropolsky Zavod Stroitelnih Materialov, a member of the Eurocement group, and ZAB Zementanlagenbau GmbH Dessau, a subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG, is for a new cement plant with an output of 1.3Mta. Eurocement increases stake in Holcim, Switzerland

Russia's largest cement maker Eurocement has increased its stake in Holcim to 10.8 per cent, newspaper Handelszeitung reports in article to be published Thursday. Eurocement's owner, Filaret Galchev-Kaltsidis, has spent CHF100m (US$109m) to raise its holding from 10.1 per cent, the paper reports. Russian cement producer, Pikalevskiy Cement, part of the Eurocement group, produced 86,710t of cement in February – 0.5 per cent above its target. Meanwhile, cement shipments for the month totalled 88,915t, 2.7 per cent above the target plan.

Belgrod Cement increases shipments, Russia

Russia-based producer Belgrod Cement, part of the Eurocement Group, increased shipments by more than 30 per cent YoY in the first two months of 2012. Cement and clinker production increased by more than 60,000t compared to the same period of 2011. Furthermore, its bagged shipments increased seven-fold. In terms of energy efficiency, savings per ton of cement from the beginning of this year amounted to 13.5kWh, SKRIN News reported.
