Vallemi cement distributors concerned about shortages

The association of cement distributors in Vallemi, Paraguay, has expressed its concern over the limited output at Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC)’s plant in Vallemi. Despite an US$67m the plant is reported to be unable to guarantee clinker production and Portland cement deliveries. Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) has sold 9,855,397 bags of cement in the first nine months of 2017, equivalent to 74.6 per cent of the total sold last year (13.2m bags), according to the cement company’s sales department. Paraguay: INC expects to close year with PYG25bn in cash

Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) expects to close this year with around PYG25bn (US$4.4m) in cash and a positive balance, according to its President, Jorge Méndez. He added that various projects undertaken at the plant – such as conversion from a fuel oil-based to a 100 per cent petcoke firing programme at Vallemí and the planned modern palletiser at Villeta – will enable the cement producer to increase output and decrease production costs.

August brings 12% sales boost for INC

Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) saw its sales increase 12 per cent YoY in August as it sold 1,286,339 bags of cement in the country. In August 2016 the cement producer sold 1,148,529 bags. In the year to date, 8,745,627 bags were sold. In 2016 INC sales reached 13,202,803 and the company expects to surpass this figure this year. Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) expects to increase its number of distributors following the rise in producttion in the second half of this year, according to its Managing Director, Jorge Méndez. Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) will switch off its kiln in July to carry out a three-month fuel conversion at its Vallemi plant, according to Jorge Méndez, INC’s CEO. In the past few weeks the price for a bag of cement in Paraguay has spiked to PYG56,000 from PYG45,000, up 20 per cent. The price rise has been attributed to technical issues with the kiln of Industria Nacional del Cemento and is expected to fall once the have been resolved.
