Cement demand in Saudi Arabia is forecast to remain flat in 2023 before expanding by five per cent YoY in 2024, according to a report by SICO Bank. Iranian cement production expands 6% in 9M22

Cement production in Iran increased 5.7 per cent YoY in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (21 March-21 December 2022), according to data released by the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry. Total output during the nine-month period reached 33.943Mt, up from 32.109Mt in the equivalent period of the previous year. In 2021 the country produced 63Mt of cement, of which it exported 14.4Mt.

Iranian cement consumption increased by 2.9 per cent to 5,514,796t in November 2022 when compared with the year-ago level of 5.36Mt, according to the Iran Cement Association. Yanbu Cement Company is to pay out cash dividends worth SAR118.12m (US$31.49m) to shareholders in the second half of 2022. This represents 7.5 per cent of capital. The aggregate sales of 17 Saudi cement producers rose one per cent YoY to 4.8Mt in November 2022, according to Yamama Cement Co ’s data.
