The cement market in Spain has expanded by 116 per cent YoY to 1.239Mt in April 2021 while demand in the first four months of 2021 increased 24.5 per cent YoY to 4.617Mt, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. The Port of Malaga, Spain, expects to move around 50,000t of clinker and cement this week.  From 22 March, the Nordanhav is loading 9500t of cement at Pier 6 by Financiera y Minera and Opemar. The Ultra Passion will be adding 40,000t of clinker at Pier 7 as of 25 March.

Cement demand in Spain has declined 2.4 per cent YoY to 1,136,748t in February 2021, according to Oficemen, the country’s cement association. Southern Cement has reached the 3Mt milestone as general cargo vessel MV Arklow Raider arrived from Bilbao into the port of Ipswich, UK, with 4600t of cement. Cement consumption in Spanish has declined by 9.7 per cent to 13.288Mt in 2020, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen.
