Eurocement Ukraine, one of the three largest Ukrainian cement producers, ended 2011 with losses of UAH46.048m, the company announced in a statement. In 2011, Eurocement Ukraine increased net revenues by 16.18% or UAH191m compared to 2010, to UAH1,374m. For the first quarter of 2012, HeidelbergCement Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk region), one of the largest cement producers in Ukraine, incurred losses of UAH71.595m (EUR6.7m). Cement production in the Ukraine in March 2012 grew by 7% compared to March 2011 to 620,000t, the country’s state statistics service has said. Ukrainian producer, Podilskyi Tsement, has reported loss of UAH9.67m (US$0.9m) for 2011 but the domestic construction sector is showing signs of a reversal in fortunes.
