USA-based Keystone Cement has announced that its application for a US$320,950 state grant to extend a natural gas line to its plant in East Allen Township, Pennsylvania, has been approved. The Wyoming Infrastructure Authority (WIA) and the Japan Coal Energy Center have signed an MoU to research solid sorbent capture technology with the twin-goals of reducing emissions and producing cement with inputs from the coal sector. India’s coal demand increased 9.1 per cent YoY to 991.35Mta during the fiscal year ended March 2019, according to the country’s Coal Minister, Pralhad Joshi.
