In January-June Azerbaijan imported about 630,350t of cement and cement clinker, which is 24.6 per cent less than the same period last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said. Cement and cement clinker in January-June was imported to the amount of about US$29.2m, which is seven per cent less than that of 2009.

Cement clinker in January-May was imported to the amount of 234,300t, 37.3 per cent less than the last year. Clinker was imported to the amount of about US$11.46m, four per cent more than the last year.
During January-June approximately 396,010t of cement were imported to the country, or 14.4 per cent less than the same period last year. Cement worth US$17.7m was imported to the country, or 8.8 per cent less than in January-June 2009.

In January-July Azerbaijan produced about 711,600t of cement, which is 0.8 per cent less than the same period of last year.
