Jordan Cement under scrutiny

Jordan Cement under scrutiny
07 April 2006

Government inspection patrols have now been intensified with regard to cement, after the market suffered a shortage of this commodity in recent weeks. The authorities are now monitoring cement shipments leaving production plants of the Jordan Cement Factories Company (JCFC) on a daily basis and the prices they are sold at. The inspection teams have so far fined 66 cement dealers for withholding the commodity from the public. They also supplied the JCFC with their names in order to blacklist them.
