24 May 2004

Apparently due to policies pursued by the Commerce Ministry to stabilise cement prices, the price of this product declined by some nine per cent in domestic markets.  The general director of commercial products supply and distribution at the Commerce Ministry told the Mehr News Agency that the cement market is currently less volatile and enjoys a better standing in comparison to the corresponding period in the last Iranian calendar year 1382 (March 20, 2003-March 19, 2004).

Pointing to the free market price of cement, Hossein Modarresi Khiyabani said that the price of cement in Tehran Province varies between Rls.450,000 to Rls.470,000 per ton and it is about Rls.460,000, 400,000 390,000 per ton in East Azarbaijan, Isfahan and Khorasan provinces respectively.
