The UK's Nyplex plans to start constructing a terminal capable of transshipping 6 million tonnes of cement annually at Ukraine`s port of Yuzhny in the Odessa Region next year, the First Deputy Governor of the Odessa Region, Nikolai Tindyuk told Prime-Tass Tuesday. Investments in the project are expected to reach US$36m, he said. `The foreign investor will become the terminal`s operator, exporting cement to the Mediterranean and Western Europe,` Tindyuk added. According to Tindyuk, Nyplex has already approved the construction at a specially allocated site on the port`s territory. The feasibility study will require about six months and afterwards the company will start the construction of the terminal`s first stage, he also said. Capacity of the first stage is estimated at 3Mta cement. The first stage is expected to cost US$18m. No further news own the actual ownership of Nyplex is known at this time.
