Dyckerhoff-owned Cement Hranice reported a one per cent rise in sales in CZK1.476bn (US$0.064m) in 2016. Net profit of the Czech cement producer advanced from CZK410m to CZK424m, according to the company’s annual report.
Board Chairman, Jaromir Chmela, reported a moderate sales volume increase in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. "The Czech construction sector reported a mild recovery again, which had a positive impact on our company's results," he said. In addition, the warmer winter weather had extended the construction season, resulting in additional sales, he added.
The growth in profit was attributed to fuel and energy savings as well as the higher sales.
