Semen Indonesia sees 41% rise in October sales

Semen Indonesia Group, including SBI, reported a 40.8 per cent rise in sales volumes to 4,771,181t in October 2019 when compared with a volume of 3,388,174t in October 2018.

Semen Indonesia, excluding SBI and TLCC, reported a 5.8 per cent uptick in sales to 3,342,839t from 3,159,448t. The company sold 2,877,048t in the domestic market, up 1.4 per cent YoY, and 465,791t to export markets, representing a 44.6 per cent increase on October 2018.

Thang Long Cement Co (TLCC)  sales increased by 22.9 per cent YoY to 280,993t in October 2019. A tripling of export sales to 145,737t in October 2019 was able to offset a 24.8 per cent decrease in domestic sales, which fell to 135,256t.

Sales by PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI), the former Holcim subsidiary, remained largely stable at 1,147,349t, supported by a 0.52 per cent rise in domestic sales, which reached 1,115,733t. However, the company’s export sales slipped by 2.5 per cent to 31,616t.


January-October 2019
In January-October 2019 total Semen Indonesia Group sales were up 25.9 per cent YoY to 34,278,331t from 27,230,159t in the 10M18.

Semen Indonesia saw domestic sales retreat by 4.1 per cent to 21,538,077t but enjoyed a 13.4 per cent increase in export sales to 2,980,118t. Total sales dropped 2.3 per cent YoY to 24,518,194t in the 10-month period.

TLCC reported a 14.7 per cent drop in total sales to 1,828,933t in the 10M19 as domestic sales fell by 21.4 per cent to 1,104,567t and export sales by 1.9 per cent to 724,366t.

SBI saw sales edge down by 2.3 per cent 8,872,571t as exports dropped 5.2 per cent YoY to 400,485t and domestic volumes contracted by 2.2 per cent to 8,472,086t.
