Pakistan cement's industry saw a fall in total dispatches in August 2018, dropping 8.3 per cent YoY to 3.452Mt from 3.76Mt in August 2017. This runs counter to the strong month of July when a growth of 5.1 per cent was recorded. Pakistan cement industry's FY19 started positively in terms of exports with rises in the first month July 2018. Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) has released data of the country's Large Scale Manufacturing Sector (LSMS) for the financial year 2018 (July-June). Pakistan cement industry ended fiscal 2017-18 on a jubilant note, by posting yearly growth of 13.84 per cent with domestic consumption increasing by 15.42 per cent and exports inching up by 1.77 per cent. Pakistan records highest capacity utilisation

All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has released data for the month of May, 2018,  which showed capacity utilisation between July and May 2018 was at 94.69 per cent – the highest in Pakistan's history since records began. Cement production capacity in Pakistan increased by 52 per cent in last decade. According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), capacity has risen from 30.50Mt in 2006-07 to 46.39Mt in 2016-17. Pakistan cement and construction industry have received a foreign direct investment (FDI) of US$516.07m during first eight months of FY17-18 (July 2017-February 2018), compared to US$190m received in corresponding months of last fiscal year.
