Azerbaijan: Cement production drops by 30% in year to May24 June 2016, Published under Cement NewsCement production in Azerbaijan has fallen by 30.3 per cent for the five months to May 2016, Azer press reports. The national statistics committee put the decline in output down to lower public and private sector spending. Production of concrete fell by 60 per cent, to 177,000t. Azerbaijan produced 829,000t of cement in the first five months of the year. Clinker imports also fell by 55 per cent, to 140,500t, with prices remaining unchanged at US$46.60/t. |

Akkord completes second phase of Gazakh plant27 August 2014, Published under Cement NewsAkkord has announced the successful completion of Phase 2 of its Gazakh Cement plant with the participation of the International Bank of Azerbaijan. Last week, Gazakh Cement started clinker production of a new line which is expected to reach its full capacity of 2500tpd by October.
