Azerbaijan records modest fall in cement production

Azerbaijan produced building materials worth AZN614.7m (US$361.6m) between January-October 2020, up 26.4 per cent YoY, according to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee. Cement production fell 1.2 per cent YoY to 2.8Mt, while production of ready-mixed concrete grew 5.1 per cent to 1.57Mt. Most of the construction work during the first 10 months of the year accounted for primary construction, reconstruction and expansion work.

Sustained Visions (SUSVI) and DAL Teknik Makina (DAL) have completed the kiln line upgrade at Gazakh Cement plant in Azerbaijan despite the COVID-19 restrictions. Azerbaijan’s Gazakh Cement has successfully commissioned the upgrade project of its clinker kiln line, according to Trend. "The project comprised an upgrade of the raw mill, the preheater section, clinker cooler and clinker transport. Azerbaijan sees cement production decline 3% YoY

Azerbaijan saw the value of construction materials produced in the country fall 4.8 per cent YoY to AZN426.7m (US$250.9m) in the first seven months of 2020, according to the State Statistics Committee. At the same time, the production of cement decreased by 2.7 per cent and precast concrete structures were down 25.6 per cent.

Cement production in Azerbaijan declined 2.4 per cent YoY to 1.57Mt in the first half of 2020, according to the State Statistics Committee. However, ready-mix concrete production rose 3.6 per cent to 821,500t. Overall, the value of building materials produced in the country reached AZN327.6m (US$192.82m) in the 1H20, down 10.4 per cent compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Azerbaijan sees 9% fall in cement production

Cement production in Azerbaijan fell 8.7 per cent YoY to 911,400t in the first quarter of 2020, according to the State Statistical Committee. Ready-mix concrete production rose 9.9 per cent to 461,400t, while prefabricated structures were down 4.3 per cent to 13,500m 3 . In total, construction materials worth AZN203.9m (US$119.9m) were produced in in the country between January-April 2020, a 4.5 per cent decline compared to the same period of 2019.

Gazakh Cement plant output stable in 4M20

Gazakh Cement Plant LLC in Azerbaijan reported a stable output in the first four months of 2020. The company produced over 209,000t of cement and 273,000t of clinker. This represents an increase of 20 and 10 per cent, respectively when compared with 2018.

Azerbaijan has recorded a 24 per cent YoY fall in cement production to 191,900t in January 2020, according to the country’s State Statistical Committee. However, ready-mix concrete output advanced 21.7 per cent YoY to 114,900t. Azerbaijan produced around 3.4Mt of cement during 2019, a 1.4 per cent decrease compared to the previous year, according to the State Statistics Committee.
