Tunisia-based Carthage Cement reported a 12 per cent YoY decline in its revenues to TND172.9m (US$72.2m) when compared with revenues of TND196.1m in 2016. Sale of a majority stake in Carthage Cement (Tunisia) has attracted a high level of interest from international investors. Tunisia’s Carthage Cement saw its turnover fall by 11 per cent YoY to TND132.4m (US$53.1m) in 3Q17 from TND149m in 3Q16. The company’s domestic sales remained stable at TND95.437m, leading to a market share of 19 per cent. Tunisia-based Carthage Cement increased its cement turnover by two per cent to TND68.022m in the first half of 2017. Domestic market share advanced from 18.55 per cent in June 2016 to 19.41 per cent in June 2017. However, blocked sales to Algeria negatively impacted the results. The company’s ready-mix concrete arm saw its sales slip by two per cent and output by one per cent. Debt improved from TND513m at the end of 2016 to TND507m on 30 June 2017.

Tunisia’s Carthage Cement has seen its domestic sales rise to TND33.97m (US$13.6m) in 1Q17, up eight per cent YoY. Tunisia's Carthage Cement saw its revenues increase seven per cent YoY from TND184.2m (US$80.7m) to TND197.4m in 2016. Domestic sales advanced 13 per cent from TND114.7m to TND126.4m. Carthage Cement's turnover for the first nine months ended 30 September 2016 grew 17 per cent, compared to the same period in 2015. It sold cement to the value of TND149m (US$66.2m) compared to TND125.5m (US$55.7m)  in Jan-Sep 2015. Product orders increased by 16 per cent.
