Morocco’s cement deliveries up 4% in September

Cement deliveries by  Asment Témara , Ciments de l’Atlas , Ciments du Maroc , and LafargeHolcim Maroc in Morocco in September 2024 increased by 4.1 per cent YoY to 1,088,124t from 1,045,795t, according to the country’s cement association, APC. In the January-September 2024 period, cement sales by APC members advanced by 6.9 per cent YoY to 9.818Mt from 9.186Mt in the year-ago period.

Puerto Rican cement sales in May 2024 declined 6.9 per cent YoY when compared with 1.3m bags of 42.6kg (94lb) or 55,380t, according to the Puerto Rican Statistics Institute. Cement sales in Vietnam increased 10 per cent YoY to 4,922,817t in August when compared with August 2024 and remained stable when compared with July 2024, when sales reached 4,911,7272t. Of this total VICEM reported a nine per cent YoY uptick in sales to 1,497,024t while other VNCA members saw a four per cent increase to 1,035,793t. Peruvian cement dispatches in August 2024 remained stable at 1.101Mt when compared with August 2023, reports the country's cement association, Asocem. Of this total, 1.005Mt was supplied by Asocem members. Cement sales in Indonesia amounted to 6.117Mt in August. This is an increase of 0.1 per cent YoY compared to the 6.111Mt reported a year earlier. Regional sales remain a mixed bag. Cement consumption in Panama was down 3.1 per cent to 752,427t in the January-July 2024 period from 776,126t in the 7M23, according to INEC, Panama’s national institute of statistics and census. Thanh Thang Cement Group has launched the fifth production line in Vietnam’s northern province, Ha Nam, with a capacity of 2.3Mta, with an output of 6000tpd. Cement dispatches in Argentina fell by 26.4 per cent YoY and 2.7 per cent MoM to 888,745t in August 2024 from 1,208,153t and 913,317t, respectively, according to the country's cement association, AFCP.
