Siam Cement Co (SCC) is expected to report good fourth-quarter earnings, but its Cement-Building Materials' (CBM) division is expected to come under pressure from depreciation expenses related to Asean cement plants and weaker consumption in its home market of Thailand, Bualuang Securities writes. Peru cement demand slips 3.5% in 2015

Peru’s cement dispatches remained stable in December 2015 as they reached 881,000t while total dispatches edged up one per cent to 928,000t, according to Asocem, the country’s cement producers’ association. Brazilian cement sales in 2015 declined by 9.2 per cent YoY to 64.4Mt, preliminary data and market estimates published by Sindicato Nacional da Indústria do Cimento (SNIC) reveal. Dispatches were down in all five regions, with the steepest annual declines registered in Central-West (-12.5 per cent) and Southeast (-10.9 per cent), followed by the North (-7.8 per cent), South (-6.9 per cent) and Northeast (-5.7 per cent). Steppe Cement Ltd recorded revenue for the year ended 31 December 2015 of KZT19,537m (US$54m), which was seven per cent lower than the KZT20,925m recorded in the corresponding period of 2014. In December 2015 Argentina’s cement producers dispatched 937,907t of cement, including exports, which represents a fall of 5.9 per cent MoM but a 3.6 per cent increase YoY, according to provisional figures published by AFCP, the country’s cement association. In 2015 Paraguayan cement producer Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) sold 12.4m bags of cement, an increase of eight per cent YoY, according to Jorge Méndez, CEO of INC. Following a 21 per cent fall in September 2015, cement sales in Morocco rebounded in October and November as dispatches increased by 19.5 and 15.6 per cent, respectively, according to the Moroccan cement producers’ association, APC.
