Vietnamese cement producers have sold 8.71Mt in June, up 30 per cent YoY, said the Vietnam Building Material Association. Domestic demand reached 6.91Mt, representing a 29 per cent increase when compared with June 2017, including 2.18Mt sold by Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem). ICRA: India’s FY19 cement output to rise 6% YoY

Total cement sales in the 1Q18 in Uruguay totalled 219,000t, representing an increase of 18 per cent YoY. Of this total, 74 per cent were sold in the domestic market while some 26 per cent were exported, according to the Chamber of Industry (CIU). Moroccan cement sales fell by 4.8 per cent to 5.76Mt in the first five months of 2018 from 6.05Mt in the 5M17, according to the APC, the country’s cement association. Peru’s cement market remained largely stable in May with consumption edging up by 0.6 per cent YoY to 0.778Mt and by 2.5 per cent from 0.759Mt the previous month, according to the latest data by Asocem, the country’s cement association. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the USA and Puerto Rico slipped to to 7.42Mt in March 2018 when compared to March 2017, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). Argentine cement consumption decreased by 4.4 per cent to 924,979t in May 2018, according to AFCP, the country’s cement association. Deliveries to the Colombian cement market increased 13.9 per cent YoY to 1.025Mt in April 2018, according to the country’s national statistics office, DANE. Antioquia reported a 17.2 per cent rise YoY while in Valle del Cauca and Magdalena, market expansion reached 25.5 and 37.8 per cent, respectively.
